In Silence, Linda Kapetanea and Jozef Fruček (RootlesRoot) delve into the often-overlooked power of silence in a world dominated by noise and activity. This performance invites audiences to explore the dimensions of silence, prompting reflection on its meaning and significance. However, what is silence? What dimensions can it assume?
Silence is portrayed as an absolute condition that creates a space for reflection, critical thinking, and encounters with the divine. Drawing from philosophy, theology, poetry, literature, and painting, RootlessRoot investigates silence as a medium for self-knowledge and a deeper understanding of the world. Through improvisation and movement research, the choreographic material evolves, allowing theatrical elements to emerge from this profound exploration of silence.
