Via Negativa

Kristina Aleksova is a dancer, choreographer, author, and ballet pedagogue whose practice bridges classical precision and contemporary experimentation. Trained in classical ballet, she developed her performative foundation at SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana and Tanzkompanie Graz. Since 2017, Aleksova has worked as an independent artist, creating research-based choreography and performing in collaborative projects with Via Negativa, including The Heart, The Kiss, and Three Quarter of a Human, as well as collective works such as Extima: The Taste of Being and Fertile Soil. She has also contributed to productions with DUM Association of Artists, including Parquet Ball, Hurry-Scurry, and Red Shoes. Her work explores experimentation, vulnerability, and the critical awareness of the performing body, often blending dance, visual art, and conceptual performance. Aleksova mentors emerging artists at Performance Art Research Ljubljana (PARL), supporting their creative development.
