On 29 and 30 August, the Artistic Board of Moving Balkans gathered in Sofia, Bulgaria, hosted by the team of Derida Dance Center. Together, they embarked on the inspiring task of selecting the Top 10 contemporary dance productions to be presented live, as well as the group of choreographers who will take part in the Dance Scape pitching session during the second Moving Balkans Showcase, taking place from 13–16 May 2026 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
The meeting brought together directors and dance experts from leading festivals across the Balkans. Joining them as external experts were Ingrida Gerbutavičiūtė, director of tanzhaus nrw Düsseldorf, and Samme Raeymaekers, former director of Dansens Hus Oslo.
Chosen from a highly competitive pool of over 210 applications, the Artistic Board carefully curated the final selection of 10 productions and a group of choreographers whose work will be pitched to international professionals.
The official announcement of the selected artists will be shared in the coming weeks—follow our channels so you won’t miss it!
