ALEXANDROS STAVROPOULOS (GR)

Alexandros Stavropoulos is a choreographer and performer based in Athens whose work blends contemporary dance, theatricality, humour, and pop-cultural references. Drawing on themes of identity, perception, and emotional communication, he creates physically precise and dramaturgically clear performances that resonate strongly with younger audiences. 

He trained at the State School of Dance in Athens, continued his studies in New York and London, and has performed with internationally acclaimed choreographers. His works Cinderella’s (selected as one of the Aerowaves Twenty21 Artists and touring widely across Europe), On Wednesdays We Wear Pink, and Who’s Gonna Tell Her have brought him international visibility through Aerowaves, and the Hanover Choreography Competition. He has created commissions for companies across Europe, and in 2021 he received the Stavros Niarchos Foundation ARTWORKS Fellowship.
